For this week's blog assignment I watched a video called Linking Minds. On YouTube it was a two-part video. It gave a little history on Vannevar Bush and talked about his article "As We May Think" that he wrote in 1945. In this article he talked about a futuristic concept called the Memex. It was the beginning of what we today call the computer. This video talked about how the Memex was later that main influence for personal computers. It is credited for the idea of what we know today as hypertext. This Memex could act as an extension of the mind; it would store and compress information. The Memex would inspire others how science and technology could serve us as a whole. Other people read his original article and thought that this concept of a Memex was possible.

These cartoonized videos showed how a single idea in one article came to be a computer and how the Internet came to be. It mentioned people, such as Ted Nelson, who were mentioned in the third article. This videos were clear in describing the Memex and how it came to be, and it was easy to follow and watch. The videos were intriguing and insightful, while also concise.
