Thanksgiving Post

I talked to my mom about the use of technology in her job. Her most important technology is the computer. She first learned to use it when her company switched to digital filing of information, she is an accountant, and she has taken a lot of classes in recent years to master Microsoft programs. It was not that difficult to master and having classes to learn how to use the programs helped a lot. It made her more productive because it is a lot easier to find saved information on the computer instead of having to look through a filing cabinet.  She was indifferent on the enjoyment of her job. Computers made her more efficient, but that also meant more work because there was more time to do other things.
I think it makes sense that it was more efficient and I think she was fortunate that she worked for a company that paid for classes for her to learn all the programs that she might need to use. She is also able to work from home now and connect to the work network which she would not be able to do if there were no computers.
